A Story That Starts a Conversation
Beautifully Broken is a feature-length documentary following Jared Buchanan as he takes on the Cocodona 250, a 250-mile ultramarathon through Arizona, on the tenth anniversary of his father’s death by suicide.
The film explores grief, identity, first responder trauma, family impact, community healing, and post-traumatic growth. Jared’s journey invites audiences to consider how loss can become purpose—and how connection can make seeking help possible.
Screenings have taken place at universities and with community and law enforcement partners, often followed by facilitated dialogue or a Q&A.
“Jared’s story is one of heartbreak and resilience, something I think everyone can relate to.”
— Dr. Jenna Curren, Department of Criminal Justice, Quinnipiac University. Read the existing screening feedback.
[LOGOS NEEDED] Reuse the approved Quinnipiac University and City of Concord logos from the existing site. Daniel: confirm captions and image permissions before publication.
